Jim Cannon Senior Partner, Managing DirectorJim Cannon is a Senior Partner and Managing Director with Snowden Lane Partners. His 25 years in Wealth Management has given him the expertise to formulate comprehensive, unconflicted and bespoke strategies for High-Net-Worth Individuals, families, entrepreneurs as well as Non-Profit Institutions. He specializes in Global Tactical Asset Allocation whereby he mitigates risk in both chaotic and calm markets. Jim recognizes that volatility is an inherent asset class therefore he budgets for it and harnesses it accordingly for his client’s portfolios. He subscribes to an investment philosophy that protection of principal is paramount as he collaborates with his clients to achieve their financial goals thereby ensuring optimal results. Jim specializes in derivatives as well alternative investments such as Structured Notes and Monetization of Volatility.

Prior to joining Snowden Lane Partners, Jim was an Executive Director with JP Morgan Securities. A lifelong Chicagoan, he began his career as a trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange where he learned to be asset class agnostic when it came to identifying opportunities in global markets. A philosophy that he still subscribes to this day. Jim received his MBA from DePaul University as well as a BBA from Loyola University where he played Division I college soccer, he has served on the board of the Chicago Viking Athletic Association, an 85 year old institution as well as 2 Little Fishes, a Chicago Homeless Shelter. His hobbies include global travel, watching live sports, concerts, theater, and international film festivals. He is Series 7, 63 and 66 licensed.
